A UNIQUE STORY BEHIND A UNIQUE LOCATION

The hotel restaurant "Pina" took the name of its founder Merlo Giuseppina who started the business when she was young and managed an inn in Vestone. A few years later, in 1936, the inn moves from Vestone to the "Bottega del Vino" on Virle Tre Ponti, right on the main road at the junction of the roads to Brescia, Salò and Desenzano.

After the war, Mrs. Giuseppina felt the need to have a premise of her own, so began the construction of the hotel restaurant La Pina who was inaugurated on April 24, 1948 together with the start of the XVI Mille Miglia, for which La Pina was a point of reference for years to come. It was very frequent to find drivers and sports cars, including foreigners, in the days leading up to the big car race in Brescia, and her hotel was a destination for fans and curious beings.

The hotel restaurant Pina soon became famous thanks to the kindness and sympathy of Mrs. Giuseppina, always busy in the kitchen. On the rare occasions when she left them was to welcome the guests who always loved to receive all personally.

The exquisiteness of her dishes had soon reached the city and the province. Notable among them, there was the classic capon, a specialty that even now is offered by the new management during the cold months.

New management

Since 1989 Franzoni’s family has taken over the ownership of the property to renew it in accordance with its traditions, but taking the opportunity to provide it with the latest technology.

Not by chance the inauguration took place on May 18, 1995 in coincidence with the start of the Mille Miglia. The house is managed by Marilena and Fabio with Vito and Laura, who are our children.

La Pina is our home, along with our staff, with Tiziana, Rosy, Mirka and our chef Marco, we always try to accommodate guests with a friendly smile, lavishing us so that every request can always be satisfied. Our family lives here, in the hotel, so we like to welcome guests as if they had arrived at the home of friends, trying to make them feel that they are welcome.
